Esl Pro League
The ESL Pro league will have two tournaments this year- season 13 and season 14. Season 13 will extend from 13 March till 18 April, whereas season 14 will extend from 1 September till 10 October. All the matches in both seasons will be played on a best of 3 basis.
The prize pool offered by the tournament is a whopping seven million dollars. Besides, teams with good performance will also get points towards the intel grand slam. In the ESL Pro League, both non-partners, as well as partner teams, are allowed to participate.
Speaking of the format of the tournament, both season 13 and season 14 will have the same features:
- The Group stage: There will be six teams playing four single round-robin format groups. The winners will then go to the play-in stage.
- The Play in stage: In this stage, the winning team makes its entry into the semi-finals. However, the team that loses will have to struggle in the quarter-finals.
- The Playoffs: Here, the qualifying teams will have to make their way past the single elimination bracket. As mentioned earlier, all the matches will be played in the best of 3 formats, whereas the final match is on the basis of the best of five.
The ESL One Cologne
It is considered one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world of esports. This year the tournament will take place in the LANXESS arena with fans from more than 60 different countries.
The prize pool that the tournament offers to the winner is one million dollars. Twenty-four teams are participating in the tournament this year. Out of these teams, only sixteen teams will qualify to get the Cologne rankings. The eight teams that are left will be the wildcard invites. The participants will also get a chance to get extra marks by playing masterships.
The tournament is divided into two different stages – the group stage and the playoffs. The group stage will commence from 16 July till 17 July. At the same time, the playoffs will begin from July 18 till July 19.
The Iem Master Tournaments
There will be three IEM Master tournaments this year. The first one will stretch from 12/08/2024 till 22/08/2021. The next one will stretch from 14/10/2024 to 21/10/2021. The third and final tournament will stretch from 02/12/2024 till 12/12/2021. There will be a total of sixteen teams in the tournament who will compete with each other for the prize pool of two million dollars.
The Group stage: IEM master tournaments follow a two-time elimination format. Every group will have a total of eight teams who will be competing with each other on the basis of the best of three. Three best-performing teams will make their way to the playoff stage. The winners of the group stage go to the semi-finals, whereas the runner-ups will have to struggle through the quarter-finals. The team that gets the third position in the group stage moves to the quarter-finals but gets a low amount of seeds.
Playoff: This stage is played on a one-time elimination basis. Both the quarter-finals as well as the semi-finals are held on the basis of the best of three; however, the final is held on a best of 5 basis.
